Scripture: Luke 1:39-45
Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!

Visio Divina

Ask for the grace to see and receive from the Holy. Contemplate the image for a few minutes. Acquaint yourself with it slowly. What word or phrase comes to mind? What emotion rises? Does it remind you of something, someone?

Next, go a bit deeper: Consider the colors, shapes, faces, hands, clothing. Is your eye drawn to some detail? Stay with and ponder that detail. Or, you might place yourself imaginatively into the scene; inventory your five senses, what do you see, hear, smell, taste, feel? Take your time.

Continue to sit quietly with the image. Share with God your thoughts, feelings, gratitude, questions. Express yourself in writing, or doodling, singing, or with movement. Follow the Spirit’s lead.

Finally, recognize, receive, and rest in God’s enfolding love that surrounds you now, and always.
